Baker Industries' Capital Campaign
An important part of our vision toward the future was the launching of a Capital Campaign, "Steps to Independence" in the summer of 2002. Our objective is two-fold:
Phase I - Retire the Mortgage
Baker Industries seeks funds to retire the mortgages on its two work facilities — Malvern and Philadelphia, thereby providing the financial muscle to pay for the expansion of our work rehabilitation program.
Phase II - Establish an Endowment
To begin to build an endowment to ease the demands of annual fundraising that is required to fund our operating requirements that are not covered by the sale of our services. Early efforts in this campaign have been most encouraging and have enabled us to both reduce and refinance our mortgage obligations, freeing up valuable cash flow.
